Radical Relevance

Don’t let the name confuse you. CAMD is not just an art school. They position creativity and design to reshape the role and impact of technological advances on human experience by standing at the forefront of creative research and innovation.

They provide students with a platform to experiment and explore—pushing beyond traditional, theoretical approaches to learning by weaving the act of practice into their courses. At the core of their curriculum, experiential learning moves from hands-on work in the classroom to opportunities on co-op, in research, and around the globe, engaging students in new and innovative ways—and preparing them for real-world success.

Getting with the Program

With an outdated and confusing approach to it’s online presence, CAMD needed a fresh look to attract prospective students, and allow a place for current students, faculty, and staff to visit and find the resources they need.

In order to easily show what programs CAMD offers, a new UX strategy was used to display what areas of focus offer which majors and degree types.

Sitemap and user flow

With over 120 programs and degrees, and systematic hierarchy had to be put in place so users could easily find what they were looking for and make sure everything was housed under the proper categories.

A place to shine

Individual Program and Degree pages were essential to try to attract prospective students. A page to show off student and faculty work, promote Co-Op and learning opportunities, list a personalized administrator, and explain different concentration studies allowed for specific destinations when searching certain keywords.

Design system

Expanding the design system and visual voice with helpful module blocks help put together the pieces in order to create a comprehensive and robust user experience.
